This is a Champagne Grand Cru as we understand it. This 2009 vintage blanc de blanc Champagne comes from old Chardonnay vines planted in 1962 in the place called “Champ Caïn”, within the famous Côte des Blancs. The clay-sandy-loamy limestone soil transcribes all its typicity through this wine. The winter of the 2009 vintage was cold and dry, the spring rather mild but very rainy, the summer hot and dry, and the end of the season very beautiful. Bottling was carried out in June 2010 and disgorging 9 years later, in April 2019. Tasting wise, the nose is rather delicate but very complex however. A great purity emerges, characteristic of the terroir. Minerality, freshness and chalky notes mingle with white flowers, citrus fruits (lemon) and Granny Smith apple. The palate is also refreshing and complex, dynamic and very intense. The bubble is well toned. Between structure and tension, elegance and slightly marked woodiness, the journey is complete. A rare Grand Cru Champagne, a very beautiful vintage, an exceptional Jacquesson signature.
