This is an old plot of Grenache, around sixty years old and currently being converted to organic farming. Located on the heights of the vineyard, it is the most central and sunniest of the estate. It is also the one that sees the sun first, hence the name “Alba” which means “dawn” in Occitan. Pierre Bories explores here a new version of his terroir while retaining the finesse and elegance that he knows how to demonstrate. After five years of work here is “Alba”, a superb deep nectar, delicate and powerful at the same time. The Cinsault which complements the Grenaches brings a lot of deliciousness. A little gem of freshness which nevertheless asserts its very southern character.
