Chanturgue is an unusual appellation, at least it is the most unusual and the smallest (only seven hectares, of which only half is actually exploited) of the five Auvergne crus. Already, it has the particularity of being on the edge of the city of Clermont-Ferrand, on horseback with that of Cébazat. Indeed, the vines were present before the construction of the buildings that surround them today, having been built at the beginning of the century. This “ash” terroir (limestone mixed with volcanic ash) offers a unique expression of Gamay d’Auvergne. Benoît Montel's cuvée perfectly expresses the typicity of this deep red soil: smoky, spicy and very fruity. A Gamay with a beautiful structure and great aromatic persistence. To discover !
