This late disgorging Grand Cru Champagne (DT) by Jacquesson is made exclusively from old Chardonnay vines around sixty years old, planted in the place called Champ Caïn, itself located in the commune of Avize. The 2004 vintage was almost ideal: a cool and dry June, mild and rainy July and August, hot and sunny September, just like the beginning of October. The wine was aged for no less than 16 years on lees and disgorging took place in March 2021.
This wine exudes all the delicacy of its terroir. The nose of flowers, citrus and white fruits is extremely seductive. The palate combines straightness and minerality, intensity and tanginess, nuts, butter, cream and citrus fruits present themselves in turn. Almost chiselled, the bubbles are fine and the finish is salty. A “terroir Champagne” of great accuracy”
